PAINTSVILLE, KY, May 16 2025 — The Johnson County Community Foundation (JoCCF), an affiliate of the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky, awarded the Midway University Scholarship to Johnson County High School senior Mayson Delong. This scholarship award totals $10,000 per semester, and it was presented at a special event held at Johnson County High School on May 16, 2025.
The Midway University Scholarship was established by a generous anonymous donor, and is intended to relieve financial burden from students pursuing higher education. The scholarship is focused on female students who are from a single parent household or orphaned. Applicants must be graduating from a Johnson County high school or homeschool program, and they must be planning to attend Midway University.
The Johnson County Community Foundation is an affiliate of the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky – a nationally accredited community foundation serving the Appalachian Kentucky region. Local focus is the driving force of the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky, and the affiliate community foundation network is an extension of that work. JoCCF’s mission is to promote philanthropy in an impartial, unbiased, ethical way, and to bring together people and resources to identify and address present and emerging community needs.
