Letcher County Community Foundation Establishes Boulder Run Disc Golf Course Campaign Fund

Share on:

The Letcher County Community Foundation has established a campaign fund that will be used to finance a free-to-use disc golf course in Jenkins, Kentucky. Interested donors can make a donation to the fund to support this cause, or they can choose to sponsor a hole on the course. All donations are appreciated.

Variety Disc Golf is volunteering labor and design efforts for the Boulder Run course, but they are relying on donors to provide funding for baskets, tee pads, and signage. Sponsorship of a hole on the course allows for the donor to have their name/business title displayed on a sign next to the basket. All donations made to this campaign will be securely managed by the Letcher Community Foundation, and will be used for the construction of the Boulder Run Disc Golf Course. Decisions regarding the specific use of donations will be determined by the course development team.

The establishment of the Boulder Run Disc Golf Course will encourage locals to participate in the sport more regularly and provide a new opportunity for outdoor activity in the area. It also serves as a means to promote tourism in Letcher County. Avid disc golf players are motivated by their desire to visit and experience new courses, so the Boulder Run Disc Golf Course has the potential to bring many new visitors to the Letcher County area. This course will be available for free, providing a location for easily accessible entertainment in the community. There is no set finish date for the course as of now, but more information will be forthcoming.

The Letcher County Community Foundation—established in Dec. 2022—is an affiliate of the
Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky. LCCF’s current goals are focused on flood recovery relief efforts and rebuilding the Letcher County community.
