Pikeville Community Foundation Accepting Donations for Flood Relief

Share on:

The Pikeville Community Foundation (PCF), an affiliate of the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky, is now accepting donations for emergency flood relief efforts in Pikeville and Pike County. In the aftermath of the devastating February 2025 flood, the Pike County community is in desperate need of relief. All donations made to PCF between Feb. 20 – Apr. 30 will be designated for immediate needs for flood recovery efforts.

“In times of crisis, we know our strength lies in coming together,” says Brad Slone, Pikeville Community Foundation chair. “The recent flooding has left many of our families and businesses in dire need of support. We hope you will consider a donation to the Pikeville Community Foundation and help us with our recovery efforts. Every contribution—whether big or small—can bring hope and healing to those affected. Let’s pull together as a community and make a difference. Your donation can provide much-needed relief and help rebuild our communities and together, we can make it through this.”

The impact of the flood on Appalachian Kentucky is heartbreaking. Fourteen deaths have now been reported. Small businesses, farms, homes, downtowns, and more have sustained significant damage. PCF is committed to rebuilding and restoring the Pikeville and Pike County community, but the community foundation relies on support from donors. Donations made to PCF will be maximized to provide the best possible support for local flood victims.

The Pikeville Community Foundation is an affiliate of the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky. PCF facilitates the gifting of community donors to those in need within the community. Their mission is to strengthen Pikeville and Pike County by supporting the growth of small businesses, promoting health and wellness initiatives, fighting against housing insecurity and homelessness, and preserving art, history, and culture through philanthropic efforts and collaborations with local organizations.

Tax-deductible donations to support flood relief efforts through PCF can be made online at https://bit.ly/pikevillecf. Checks can be mailed to the Pikeville Community Foundation at 243 Main Street, Pikeville KY 41501.
