Caitlin Collier, the owner of K-Fitness, faced significant challenges due to the February 2025 flood. K-Fitness, a 24-hour women’s physical fitness center in Pikeville, KY, was hit hard by the storms. Just six weeks prior, Caitlin had completed a major renovation of her facility. The flood caused extensive damage to her newly renovated building, undoing much of her hard work. Caitlin was left with damaged flooring that required replacement, missing supplies, contractor fees, and equipment that needed repair or replacement. She found herself struggling to pay for the lease on the building on top of all of the repairs that she had to make. That’s when she decided to apply for the Invest 606 Flood Relief Grant. After her application was approved, she received a total of $10,000, all of which came from the Appalachian Crisis Aid Fund. With this financial support, she has been able to restore her building and replace vital equipment.

“This business is my dream, and I want to continue living it,” Caitlyn wrote in her grant application. With support from the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky and Invest 606, she is able to keep living out her dream. And we could not have provided that support without your generous support!
We want to extend a big thank you to every single person and organization who donated to support individuals, farms, nonprofits, and businesses just like Caitlin that were in desperate need of help following the flood. You have truly made a lasting impact in Eastern Kentucky.
