MARTIN COUNTY, KY, July 2026 — Martin County has a new way to invest in its future.
Forward Martin County has officially been established as a local affiliate community foundation through the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky. Forward Martin County will be a permanent charitable resource dedicated to supporting the people, the communities, and the future of Martin County. The new community foundation gives residents, businesses, and former Martin Countians an opportunity to make lasting investments that will benefit the county for generations.
Every donation made to Forward Martin County stays focused on strengthening Martin County partnerships and projects that improve quality of life and create new opportunities. The foundation will support initiatives that promote workforce development, leadership opportunities, economic growth, community beautification, and the people, culture, and heritage that make Martin County unique.
“Our vision is to create a stronger, more vibrant Martin County by investing in the organizations and the people who are making a difference,” said Blake Dials, Chair of Forward Martin County. “Whether someone gives a little or a lot, every donation helps build a permanent source of support for charitable causes right here at home.”
Forward Martin County’s board members are Blake Dials (Chair), Corey Cassell (Vice-Chair), Collan McCoy (Secretary), Danna Barnett, Colby Kirk, and Garrett Lowe (student representative). Working with Forward Martin County is Kathy King Allen, Chief Community Officer at the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky.
