Perry County Community Foundation Accepting Donations for Flood Relief

Share on:

The Perry County Community Foundation (PCCF), an affiliate of the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky, is now accepting donations for emergency flood relief efforts in Perry County. In the aftermath of the devastating Feb. 2025 flood, the Perry community is in desperate need of relief. All donations made to PCCF between Feb. 20 – Apr. 30  will be designated for immediate needs for flood recovery efforts.

“It is so heartbreaking to see our region hit by flooding yet again, especially those who were also impacted in 2021 and 2022. In the face of this disaster, we are reminded that our region is home to the most selfless, resilient people that will always help their neighbors in times of hardship,” says Zack Hall, Community Engagement Officer. “The Perry County Community Foundation has been there for the community in times of crisis throughout the years, and we are here for our community again. If you are looking for an avenue to provide immediate assistance to provide for critical needs, please consider donating to PCCF. We will get through this disaster like we have in the past, because we have each other.”

The impact of the flood on Appalachian Kentucky is heartbreaking. Fourteen deaths have now been reported. Small businesses, farms, homes, downtowns, and more have sustained significant damage. PCCF is committed to rebuilding and restoring the Perry County community, but the community foundation relies on support from donors. Donations made to PCCF will be maximized to provide the best possible support for local flood victims.

The Perry County Community Foundation is an affiliate of the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky. PCCF supports positive work that benefits the people of Perry County. With an engaged board and a growing endowment, the community foundation is well positioned as a partner in fulfilling the potential and meeting the challenges in Perry County. They strive to help nonprofits and agencies do their work better. They serve as a mentor and partner to organizations serving the county, and by seeking ways to build organizational capacity beyond giving grants.

Tax-deductible donations to support flood relief efforts through PCCF can be made online at http://bit.ly/PerryCF. Checks can be mailed to the Perry County Community Foundation at 420 Main Street, Hazard, KY 41701
