Floyd County Community Foundation Accepting Donations for Flood Relief

Share on:

Floyd County Community Foundation (FCCF), an affiliate of the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky, is accepting donations to the Floyd County Crisis and Recovery Fund in response to the February 2025 flood. FCCF plans to use the funds received to directly support the Floyd County community as they are recovering.

“Once again, our Floyd County communities are facing the devastating impacts of flooding, and we are reminded of the resilience we’ve built together in the face of past disasters,” says Kathy King Allen, Community Engagement Director, “The Floyd County Community Foundation has been a lifeline during times of crisis, and we are once again turning to it for support. We urge everyone to contribute to the Floyd County Community Foundation Crisis fund to help those affected by this flood. Your donations will provide immediate relief and ensure that those in need receive critical assistance as they begin the long road to recovery. Together, we can rebuild and strengthen our community, just as we have before.”

The impact of the flood on Appalachian Kentucky is heartbreaking. Fourteen deaths have now been reported. Small businesses, farms, homes, downtowns, and more have sustained significant damage. FCCF is committed to rebuilding and restoring the Floyd County community, but the community foundation relies on support from donors. Donations made to FCCF will be maximized to provide the best possible support for local flood victims.

The Floyd County Community Foundation is an affiliate of the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky – a nationally accredited community foundation located and serving eastern Kentucky. Local focus is the driving force of the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky, and the affiliate community foundation network is an extension of that work. FCCF’s mission is to support efforts that build long-term capacity towards improving the quality of life in Floyd County, Kentucky, and address the immediate needs of the community.

If you are interested in supporting the Floyd County community as they recover, you can make a donation to the Floyd County Crisis and Recovery Fund by visiting https://bit.ly/FloydCrisisFund.
